Wildfires have an accelerated progressive rate of extent meanwhile burning through thick, uninterrupted fuels. They can move as agile as 10.8 kilometers per hour in forests and 22 kilometers per hour in grasslands. The following is a timeline of a genuine 2-story house fire. It will tell you just how quick fire spreads:
30 seconds - Fire lights and increases immediately.
1 minute - From the initial flame, fire spreads, and smoke starts to fill the room of origin.
1 minute 30 seconds - Smoke layer descends rapidly, the temperature passes 190°F.
2 minutes and 30 seconds - Temperature above 400°F.
2 minutes and 50 seconds - Smoke flows into other rooms.
3 minutes -Temperature rises up to 500°F in the original source
3minutes and 50 seconds -Two minutes after smoke detectors sounds, only one exit
4 minutes and 30 seconds - Flames just now noticeable from outside of house – first indication of fire from outside. AT THIS POINT, RESCUE MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE.
